I hate to see men cry, not because it is inappropriate or disgracful, but because it scares me! When a man cries, it means there's a disaster, a huge problem that made him incapable of holding his tears. It means that his pain or grief is much more than one can bear. I hate to see a man cry because he should be the crying shoulder... the rock that faces all hardships boldly. When I see the rock splitting, it makes me scared.

That's super man what u just discribed...a MAN is HUMAN being ....
the main injustice man face during his life is always that he have " the great expectations "... he must be strong... be a pretender....be a rock with no feelings... be a thing (things don't feel...so does men !!! )
i heard this phrase many times from many personnes "i really would like to cry but i don't know how"... and beleave me it is really hard
u know when u see a man crying ... be the crying shoulder...
U r right, but naturally men can bear more than women , emotionally at least, and if a man and a woman r put in the same situation, the woman cries faster and easier, women cry for fun u know:) but if the pressure is stronger, men cry, but women just stand stunned or break down, not even able to cry.
i don't ever mind that men cry, i said it just scares me! i'd feel unsafe if he is my man, but i will let him cry, we ba3d keda yefo2ly ba2a neshoof 7al lel mosseeba elli 7'aleto ye3ayatt:p
When I read some of your posts I can't help remembering some old discussions.. you might not remember them ya3ni.. bas I've always regarded you as a fanatic feminist erhabeyya :D
The scene of a crying man scares because it's a "big thing" .. it's shocking .. it's shameful for many .. it's "unmanly" for most
However a woman's tear is nearer to her eyes but much further from her breakdown or collapse; but a man's tear is not nearby his eyes but might be very close to an emotional wreck... I still think that women are stronger emotionally than men because I think women tend to breakdown (not cry) at a further point!
i do remember such conversations VERY WELL...:)
i remember when u told me once: "be a feminist but not an anti-manist"
it was a term u just made up cause u had this terrible impression that i could be one.... we7yat abouya i am not 'anti-manist' ya Rami..:D mesh 3arfa how to convince u...
anyway: i didn't understand ur comment very well(mesh 3arfa r u being sarcastic wala u mean it)
bass i feel it is not different from what i said in my posting...
Men wait long enough before they give up and cry, that's why when u see a man crying u say: "there must be something terribly wrong"
enama We (women) cry as a way of relief, and for matters that might look little.. i remember that once i cried at work because someone erased a part of my source code! a man would not cry for that.. but he would cry if his father died...
anyway, i always believe there are differences between a man and a woman... BUT (here comes feminism) these differences never tell that one of them is better than the other, hence he/she can have priviliges... they r just different! Whether who cries first and who stands up a bit longer is all a part of their natures.. not what's expected from them.
and Plz Rami read the previous posting of Psalm 1 "واثق"
I'm talking about a 'man' am i not?!
Here we go again ;D
I was sarctastic tab3an in 'erhabeyya' :) but the rest was mostly serious ... I am also talking about a difference in nature between men's and women's! Women cry faster but endure more .. ya3ni it's true that normally it would take less for a woman to shed a tear but women tend to have a considerably higher emotional breaking-point than men...
On the other hand, I don't think the 1st psalm is exclusively talking about the righteous man and not the righteous woman.
:D Oh God, we r typically saying the SAME thing, still i enjoy the argument ... 3ashan da aktar post leh comments on my blog :P
u r totally right Rami... and am happy u have this high appreciation to women's endurance:P u sound like a Feminist ...mmmmm great:)
BTW: the definition of a Feminist is: "One who believes in the theory of feminism" ,
and Feminism is: "the theory that men and women should be equal politically, economically and socially."
Check it here: http://www.amazoncastle.com/feminism/ecocult.shtml
u will find many other terms definitions.
Remember, a feminist IS NOT a man-hater, and not an antimanist as u name it :p u r making a terrible cultural mistake here...
&i will tell u why i became a feminist: because i see men around me punishing women for doing the wrong that they themselves do... i see people focusing on women's purity and straightness while men brag about their adventures... i see how men ask their women to cover up and hide their bodies while they enjoy looking at other women on the street.
i just hate the word "ana ragel a3mel elli ana 3ayzo".. my words r not new, but these things still happen and i just cannot accept it!
if i want someone to follow my rules i should be following them first. If the man is sane and fair and self-disciplined, any woman would be glad to follow and obey him HAPPILY, not because he is just a "male"! but because he is worth obeying. does it still sound bad for u?
